poem of the day...

So I wrote this poem using words that were on the chipotle bag... because what else are you supposed to do as you eat chipotle and contemplate life?

The whole concept of finding "The Male"
which is like Magic.
I've been working some things out in my head.
It seems like 1 sustainably raised,
obsessive attention to detail
and classical cooking technique dude
minus crazy chemicals & hormones
plus tastiness times a really big...
divided by natural ingredients
equals a way better
grown & sexy
whole bunch of people.
I mean come on!
It's not rocket science.
Pretty simple to me.
I just wish more people
could get a handle on this equation.
Maybe I should set up a tutoring service
so I can help explain this to people
and of course earn some extra money.
Plus I'm better.
That's all...

Working hard...

faith...
I have Faith.
Faith in what?
Faith that things will/ are/ am better.
That love and all of the enduring promises promised to me will/ are/ am available to me.
Interesting concept...

The word FAITH is defined as:
* Complete trust or confidence in someone or something
* Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

With this in mind, there is a saying out there (Matthew 17:20)
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Moving mountains?
Belief so strong that NOTHING will be impossible for you?
That there is the cornerstone of all things... Faith.
If you do not believe it, if you cannot see it, if you cannot even fathom it for you then how are you to recognize it once it appears? How are you to know that this right here is for you because it is...
just.
for.
you.

I KNOW I will be the first (second & third) to tell you that sometimes having faith (convictions/ standards/ beliefs) are hard...every once in a while you will set it aside and sometimes place that bad boy so far back in your closets you will not even recognize it when you revisit that section of your closet again. Hell, that faith you had

 may. not. even. fit. anymore.

whose fault is that? now what? what the hell to do now?
Well, I am here to tell you just like everything in life you better gets to working HARD to put that faith back on . You better be on that grind everyday, every minute, every second to get that faith back. And you better remember why you put it down so that you do not do THAT again. You got to do the work...

All this to say...
sometimes I loose my way.
I know that I fully admit to doubting "it" is out there for me.
I know that sometimes I fear...
I know that  faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26)
I am human... and I am me.

Please be patient with me, GOD is not thru with me yet.

Thumbs down...

Apparently, in one of my dreams
I was fighting someone
(he who shall not be named...)
and hit the wall.
Well, officially I really hit something
and my right thumb is swollen.
Humans, we need posable thumbs.
Things you need your thumbs for:
zipping things.
snapping things.
pulling things.
 twisting things.
hitch hiking?
I guess I can be ambidextrous for that

Coffee...

Coffee

I saw this news segment this morning on "death-wish coffee" where the caffeine content of this particular brand of coffee is that of 2 tall cups of Starbucks coffee- about 660 mg of caffeine. Considering I drink about 2-3 cups of coffee per day I wonder how much would this caffeine affect me?  I mean me being a coffee connoisseur my caffeine curiosity coincidentally does not want me to go into convulsions just for a cup of joe.

But I do wonder about this 'death-wish" coffee... because while me not having my coffee would produce some death-wishes of sorts for some folk, I am sure I have learned to exclude myself from the list of wanting folks dead.

anywho...on to my first cup.
that's all...

Thursday
A day that is closer to Friday but important in its own rights...
Thursday was usually reserved for Grandmas fried chicken nights in our youth coupled with the wholesome goodness of the Cosby show. Gone are those good days of memory and in my latter years Thursdays were the start of the weekend partying (while in school) and those of us unfortunate enough to have an 8 am Friday theology class (yup over here) had the misfortune of missing that class more often than not. Luckily I know God in many forms and was able to skate by on the catholic school upbringings + my dabbling in the other worldly religions.
As the college years escaped me, enter the 'pre-adult' adulthood I was experiencing. Working full time and enjoying my own place, Thursday nights became synonymous with chicken grease- poetry, drinks, grandmas fried chicken (again) and spoken/ written word. Those days furnished experimentation with verbiage, synonyms, double entendre and the likes.
Pre-adulthood is a term I use (still) because staying up all night and still stumbling into work was the norm.
Now a days my life has adapted to me.
Slower moving but at the speed of light are the thoughts and actions in my space.
My place is still up in the air, but I like that weightlessness.
Wait less.
And besides, when is one truly ever an adult?
that's all...

Sick Day- Monday 3/18/13

Sick days suck when-

1) The day-time TV choices are slim to none and the slim part you already saw before so it is really none.
2) You want some hot tea but it is all the way over there and your couch is too comfy to move from.
2a) You also have no motivation for coffee.
3) It is 34 degrees outside and 26 degrees in here.
4) You have no more chicken soup in the house and no motivation to go outside.
5) The crackhead is running laps up and down the steps like it is the NYC marathon, slamming doors so sleep is elusive.
6) You are actually sick and are home not playing 'sick' and lying on a beach somewhere.

that's all...

Opportunities…Pharcyde

My dear, my dear, my dear, you do not know me but I know you very well…

In the connotation of words and words that are specifically written by me- it would be wise to not let your negative view of every action (or word) dictate how you interpret the words I use.  Because by your assumption, you assume the worst in people. You assume the worst in the thoughts and actions they have intended for you.  And by virtue of looking for something (the negative assumption) you do indeed tend to find it.

Back story:
Life is going along- folks are extremely unhappy with their current position and employment and lot in life. OK. An ‘opportunity’ presents itself for relocation to another state- I say go for it! Ask for more $ and take stock in what it can do for you and what you can do there. Back comes an email with the if’s, and’s and but’s as to why it will not work and why this relocated place is not a place they can conveniently move to the next level of their career and ultimate bliss. So I reply:

smh smh---
i love love love the excuses!
how muck work have you done in NY for your ultimate bliss thus far to make it not worth it to start again in relocated place? considering there is a need for what you want to do many places (and a conclave of rich people who maintain residences in relocated place and ny) there is a potential market down there as well- don't count them out. i do see your point.
BUT
considering you said you are not going to be making more money no matter how you slice it- welcome back to the to the rotten apple.
i just know if I am offered an opportunity and don't take it -i have learned from past missed opportunities not to do that again.
i think about the first transformers movie when the dude says to the chick (about getting in the car):

Fifty years from now, when you're looking back at your life, don't you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car!!!

But all that aside-- speaking of your resume-- you would know if that movement (from where you are to another place not making more $ then back to where you are if it comes to that) would/could  look negative on the resume. i think it would show your willingness to try something out in a different office (and can be explained that you went to help start up the office in relocated place and your exceptional knowledge is what made that opportunity available for you.
sooo yeah everything is explainable. but if this opportunity is not something that is favorable to you (like in a tangible way) then it aint for you.
simple.

This person was thrown by my use of the word: excuses and took offense to that because everyone who uses that word means it in a negative way and they are not making excuses. Of course I am not everyone and happen to google Merriam Webster:

In my whole summation of the situation that was presented to me, I gave my thoughts based on the context of the conversations we have had and the current information available. I specifically referenced the points that were made and concluded that if this opportunity is not favorable for you then it isn’t for you… yet somehow the reaction to that was “duh”.

And then said I didn’t answer their question.
Right.
Que Pharcyde, enter Oportunity as "she",  carry on.
