Moms 5/15

The best thing about mommies are their unwavering support.
My mother was the most supportive mom.
She encouraged my dreams and grounded my realities.
She always had a wonderfully kind word for many and any one who needed it
(and for those that didn't as well).
When we were doing something wrong or borderline illegal,
she would try to remember which one of her kids was doing it
and call them but it sounded like role call. LOL
I loved her 'role call' of Michael Melvin Tasha Nancy-
and to this day we always wondered what Nancy did to get on the list.
(Nancy was a co-worker who was as funny and helpful as mom).
One of the biggest jokes with Mike was "why am I first on the list?"
probably most of the trouble surrounded him, who knows.
hmmm coffee.
she appreciated a good cup of coffee.
she would often lace her coffee with cinnamon or nutmeg for an extra flavor boost.
(cinnamon turns out is good for blood pressure and stuff. go her!)
she never quite could take hot coffee as years of dealing with us kids
(when we were young),
and life in general getting out the front door
(as we got older)
she drak her coffee room temperature.
not iced- just room temperature
'when she remembered' LOLOL

Anyway, just a few thoughts on you mom that make me smile at the memories.

coffee thought..

I have been thinking a lot about things (coffee) and have come to the conclusion that coffee is a good thing. as it turns out (considering my little experiment with giving up coffee for lent/ 40 days etc) i truly truly enjoy coffee. and the act of making getting procuring it is just as fun. (i substituted a lot with tea in this trying times- same deal) the time i spend with folks over a cup of warmed caffeinated goodness is irreplaceable and something i look forward to (even if it is with me [ALONE] and my multiple personalities).
eh, that's all...

What happened to basic human rights?

What happened to valuing life- however we may feel about it and ‘liberty & justice for all’???

Whoops- we really don’t mean “all” at all (do we?). We mean all that is not Iraqi, Pakistani, South Asian, Female, African, Black, Gay, Lower-socioeconomic status, Under-educated, etc… basically not the 'all' that we don’t like or have strong reasoning to believe was behind attacks on the US. Yes it is terrible, beyond terrible and horrible what this man did and was capable of and the way people continue to support this ideology- that remains something I cannot fathom...but the way we as human beings, Americans are reacting over a life loss is just as troubling and deserves some serious thought.

Sometimes the human spirit is utterly disgusting.

The display of self righteousness and ‘might’ that is out there right about now is no better than the display that happened on the very fateful day we claim to be fighting for.

Celebrations? In the street? Really? Someone please roll some video footage of other countries on 9/11. Please be reminded that those who oppose Americans & our values were celebrating in the street as we were mourning our losses. WE were outraged at the lack of decorum showed- yet here WE are doing same thing we viewed as wrong then. Think about it-- if it was wrong for them to do it then -- then OF COURSE it wrong for us to celebrate now…no? OH, we feel we are right. (carry on...)

No, I am not sympathizing with anyone at this moment… I am searching for humanity in it all.

Do we not realize that thousands have died (senselessly) and millions more are suffering (continually) right this very second? And human beings want to see a dead body displayed and head mounted on a steak. Yet we call ourselves civilized in the same breath- hardly.

God Bless the USA.

(and may she protect and keep us all from the danger that is mainly ourselves)
